Acquisitions:  Many lenders have already discovered the “smart way” to expand their footprint in the industry.  Let’s face it, “start ups” are generally extremely time consuming, money guzzling propositions.  By the time you hire a Manager, who then must negotiate a lease, furnish the branch(es), hire Administrative Support and Sales staffs, coordinate equipment installation, etc, you can easily be looking at six to nine months of “down time” until you start to see a consistent pipeline and a momentum of loans closing every month.
